Landscapers Company In Santa Barbara: Jorge Cortez Helping Transport Flagstone To The Jobsite
Video Transcription
Hello, my name is Jorge Cortez with Santa Barbara Evolution Landscape and today we’re working on a succulent installation and flagstone install with gravel. And right now here Isaac, he’s moving the flagstone and we’re gonna take it to the backyard right now.
You’re gonna be very careful with flagstone, because it heavy and it can, the can be very delicate, so you may want to make sure you don’t drop. Because if you drop any of these slabs of flagstone that would definitely break and you don’t want it to happen.
Safety first, you make sure you have full control of any of the tools, or materials you’re carrying. You don’t want to break you fingers.
As you can see here, we started, actually prior to placing the plants and installing the landscape fabric here. There used to be a chicken koop here, so we demoed the chicken koop. There was a planter right in here, we removed that, we removed all the debris that was in here. We graded and cleared everything. And then what we did is we installed landscape fabric and the reason we use landscape fabric is when it rains, all the water filters through the fabric and it reaches the roots of the plants, because if usually, if you use plastic, none of that water will filter through and it will just pull on top of the plastic and you want to make sure, you’re watering the soil, so you have healthy soil and if you have healthy soil, you will hhg have healthy plants.
So, we’re gonna install the flagstone walkway here, that leads into a small little patio area for the clients to relax and enjoy, have some chairs here and enjoy this succulent garden. So, we has various different types of succulents and agaves all the way around the perimeter and the reason why we specifically have the goddess on the perimeter, is because they get very large. So, we want to make sure that the garbage don’t impede the walkway or the patio, so we’ll make sure we put them as far, as we can around the perimeter.
