Santa Barbara Landscapers: Landscape Maintenance Inspection On A Commercial Scale
Video Transcription
Hi, my name is Jorge Cortez with Santa Barbara Evolution Landscape and today we’re providing landscape inspections to all of our maintenance clients.
In this specific case we’re at an apartment complex that we just started service, just a couple month ago. And we started with doing an irrigation inspection, then we looked at the plants for the health, whether they need fertilizer, whether they need some extra treatment and pruning involved to get them to a state, where they can actually grow vigorously and beautifully. We’ve also checked the drains, we checked all the gutters, we checked to make sure, that the regular maintenance service that we just started is improving gradually.
In this case our client did not want an initial cleanup with instant results, so progressively over time with maintenance we’re improving the landscape. So, right now Francisco and Beto are looking, they’re looking at the plants, looking at the trees, whether they’re the disease or not, whether or not we need to apply some specific product in order to improve and get rid of the insects. Yeah, I mean, I see a lot of weed shere and so, we need to apply a weed killer application and or just manually remove them. And all depends on our clients needs.
The big difference between manually removing weeds and spraying weeds is the time and it takes a lot longer to manually remove weeds, because it takes more effort, more labor and time removing them with your fingers or with the tool and going through the entire landscape, weed by weed and all the beds.
Whereas with a weed sprayer you can just spray left to right and go through in between the plants and do such a large square footage area in a very short amount of time. So, it’s much, much faster spraying weeds than manually removing them. It all depends on our clients budget and how immediately they want the results. Because when you spray the weeds, it can take anywhere between a couple weeks or to e few weeks before they’ve been completely eliminated and have died. Whereas, if you manually remove the weeds, you know, pinch the weed, remove the weed – you have instant result, there’s no more weed whatsoever in its previous location. So, it takes more time and effort.
